...sigh...

"How'd it go?"

"Well, he didn't show up."

"That's good! You won!"

"Well. I guess so."

It doesn't feel like winning. I want him to have a dad. The kind who will fight for him. The kind who will show up. The kind who cares as much as I do.

Instead I have a piece of paper.

Sad face

  1. Yeah. That would break my heart too.

But it just goes to show what a compassionate, beautiful mother you are.

I'm sorry you have to bear this burden on top of everything else.

I kind of want to nutpunch him.

  2. you have every right to be sad. Of course you want your sons father to care enough to show, to fight for him.

  3. The fact that you feel this way speaks to the fact that you're a good person who is raising a great kid.

Someday he will realize the mistake he's made.

  4. Aw. How could you not want to fight for that little guy?

Mental hugs to you and Gabriel.

  5. God, that's heartbreaking, hun. I hope your ex grows up and becomes a man before G realizes he's not worth his time.

  10. Oh my god I am so sorry. For both of you. But mostly for the dad that does not show up... It seems that HE is the one that is going to miss the most.

  12. I wish I magic a wonderful father up for Gabriel.

    Abracadabra, you know?

I really wish that, for both of you.

  13. I wish the same curse on him that I wished on my ex; that one he'll have a hard time looking in the mirror and realize what he's missed out on.

  14. I understand this, oh boy do I understand this. And I'm so damn sorry.

  15. He is such a beautiful, intelligent little boy and while I understand your profound desire for him to have what he deserves...two parents who love him enough to move mountains for him, the fact that he has you counts for an awful lot. Perhaps one day his Pa will realize what a gem his son is and what he is missing, but for now, Gabriel is a lucky little chap because he has you.

  16. I'm so sorry love, thankfully he does have one parent who loves him so unconditionally and whole-heartedly. He should have two, but having a mother like you is a pretty incredible gift!
