I GOT IN

Hair Poll The Second (BANG BANG)

Results of Hair Poll One:
Hair Poll Results
This is the lowest maintenance of the options.
I mean, aside from not dying it, which is the LOWEST maintenance of the options.
If I were to dye my hair, dying it this kind of red (the not SO bright red) would be the lowest maintenance hair dye choice.

Now, let's discuss bangs.
I love my bangs because I have an epically large forehead.  You could project movies onto this sucker.  I feel like the bangs do some disguising.
However, currently we have this situation:
Bangs?
It needs to be addressed.
So.
Do we cut the bangs, bringing them back up above the (non-existent) eyebrows?
Or do we grow them out?

Hair Poll

Hair, 12/7/10
Natural Hair Color (currently, more or less)
IMG_1055
Sort of not-that-bright reddish (with brownish)
Hair! Fixed!
Red! Go big or go home!
Hair did
Chocolate Brown (with warmer undertones sorta). Hey! That's not you! (You're right, that's Zoeyjane, but we have the same coloring and I'm stealing her pic (source))

EDIT: As extra info, I'm growing my hair out, so length will be of the longer variety.
I am still undecided on what to do about my bangs.
And that is all.
I think.

A SECOND EDIT FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO SEE ME BLONDE: In fact I spent what is still the majority of my life as a blonde. My hair was naturally golden all the way up until I had Gabriel, and pregnancy destroyed any last vestiges of blondness and left me with my current somewhat dishwatery color. That said, there are two problems. The first is that I feel that blonde hair with darker roots is the trashiest way to let your hair upkeep go, and I am famously bad at maintaining my hair choices. When you dye red, or even when you just dye darker, it tends to fade as it grows out, making the root line not quite so obvious. The second is that I have an unreasonable bias towards dying my hair blonde, like that makes me a fake somehow. I don't feel that way about OTHER bottle blondes, just about me. I think it has to do with feeling superior for so many years as a California girl with naturally blonde hair. To dye my hair blonde would be to fly in the face of my own judgmental snobbery of decades past.

The Paleo Diet

My brother Duncan, while eating dinner last night (a dinner which involved beans): You know, the Paleo Diet doesn't allow legumes.

Me: What the fuck is the Paleo Diet?

Duncan:  Oh c'mon, Internet Expert Lady, it's all over "The Blogs." The Paleo Diet?  We should all be hunter-gatherers? It doesn't allow legumes.

Me: No seriously, what are you talking about?

Duncan:  Well first, you fast for 3-7 days.  Every one of these days, you go out with your hunting party trying for a kill, while another contingent of your group gathers any nuts and berries that may be available, in an attempt to stave off malnourishment.  Then, if you manage a kill, you gorge yourself on raw meat, eating as much you can until the maggots appear.  Then you cut away the parts of the animal carcass that are beginning to rot, and continue to eat as much raw meat as you can.  Then you start the cycle over again.
It's the hottest new thing.
Paleo Diet.
I thought you were supposed to know stuff.

Tattoo V

Here's some pictures from my fifth and most recent tattoo appointment, taken by the lovely Kat.  I forgot to charge my camera battery, so it died less than halfway through, and I haven't had a chance to awkwardly take a picture of my own back in the bathroom mirror yet, so you'll have to bear with me.  George finished shading the trees on the right (of my back), and started with the color of the two dudes on the right.
I make super awesome faces when being stabbed with needles, apparently.
The original illustration is done in very muted tones, and I'm super impressed at how true the book he's managed to get the shading.
I'll post more comprehensive pictures as soon as I take them.
I'm just so damned excited to get this a little bit closer to finished.

EDIT AGAIN: Kat just sent me another pic from her phone, this is of the whole thing at this point, with some vaseline smeared on, for posterity.
